Three tiers for items and perks, lives for the climb

Items now build like in Dota in three tiers: two components make an item, and two items make a stronger third tier item. We drew 30 new third tier items for this version, and the old legendary items are third tier too. You can build on any floor, right on a hero or from the Stash

The Eru spark and the Workbench stop are gone

Perks also have three tiers: two perks of one tier make a perk of the next tier. Perk ranks and merging copies of one perk are gone

Your climb starts with 3 lives. Losing a battle costs 1 life, and you try the same floor again. Every tenth floor you clear gives you one more life, with no limit

Salt for each floor arrives after the battle: 6 for a regular floor and 10 for a boss floor

Only heroes who fight gain experience. Heroes on the Bench gain none. A hired hero starts at level 1 and gains experience from its own kills. Levels come more slowly, and each next level needs more experience than the last

Hire starts with 4 heroes. A new relic adds one more hero to Hire, and the effect stacks up to 8 heroes. It appears often until Hire is full

Everything is open from the start, with no progression between runs. The menu has New game and Continue when a run is saved, and New game starts right away

In this version, every player sees the tutorial one more time. You can replay it any time in Settings

Choices at stops use clear numbered buttons. On PC, press 1 to 9 to choose

The next floor's choice appears while the floor transition is still playing

The Reach bar on the left shows progress within the current level only

The enemy list has left the screen

Click an item and portraits appear above it for board heroes who can take it. Each portrait shows what the item would build into on that hero. Click a portrait to equip or build

At Rest, choose heroes to train by their portraits. Only heroes on the board can train
